PHD CANDIDATE – NEUROSCIENCE OF HAPTIC PERCEPTION (m/f/diverse) Job ID 19-xx
(part time / initially 2 years with the possibility for an extension)
Positions are funded within two DFG projects. As a follow-up of the Bremen-Hand-Study@Jacobs (http://bgodde.user.jacobs-university.de/research/bremen-hand-study-jacobs), the first project will investigate the neural mechanisms underlying the effects of age and expertise on tactile perception and learning. The topic of the second project is the plasticity of the minimal self in healthy aging, i.e., how virtual and real-life changes in sensorimotor experiences shape perception of body ownership, agency, and location. - Excellent university degree (Diploma, Master) in Psychology or Biology (or related disciplines) with a preferred focus on Behavioral Neuroscience
- Experiences with / knowledge of modern human brain research techniques
- Proficient German and English language skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Of advantage are programming skills and experiences with Matlab/EEGLAB
- Candidates should be able to work independently and in a team
